UK Visa For Indian Citizens from India

Indian travelers to the UK need to have an entry document. This entry document is known as visa and the applicant traveling to the UK needs to file for the UK Visa For Indians. 

When the purpose of the visit is to meet family & friends in the UK or to travel as a visitor/tourist has to apply for the Visitor Visa and the category for the same is Standard Visitor Visa Application.

For applying for the visa, you need to meet the standards set by the UK Immigration The department that includes proving your purpose of the visit, social and economic ties in the home country, and leaving the UK before the visa expires.

Procedure for the  visa

• The first step is filling the online form including wherein the details included are of passport, employment, family, and the travel plans in the UK. Every candidate is required needs to fill a different visa form irrespective of age.

• After the form is filled applicant needs to check the details and verify if everything is proper then you can submit it online. The visa form is submitted online and you have to make the payment of the consulate charges and VFS charges.

• Payment is made through a debit/credit card. When the payment is made you are allowed to make the appointment at your close by VFS center. You can choose the appointment date as per your convenience and available time slots.

• After submission of the form & making the payment a unique GWF number will be generated that is used for future reference by the department. Visa form and checklist is generated which is required to be printed and submitted at the VFS center to process the application.  

• You need to reach the VFS center 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment timings. At the center, you are required to present all the documents and it will be submitted by the VFS delegate online and passport will be collected and you will be guided for the biometrics.

• UK Visa is processed in 12 – 15 days. The process timings may differ as indicated as it is the sole discretion of the Immigration department.  When the visa is processed you will receive a mail on the enlisted mail id which was mentioned on the visa form.

• You need to visit the center for collecting the passport on the working days between 24 to 48 hrs after getting the mail. You can likewise pick the courier service by paying the charges of the same at the VFS center if you don't wish to visit the center.

• Visa received will be stamped on the passport and the validity of the visa will be for 6 months and multiple entries. Visa validity and entries may differ for certain candidates as it is the decision of the consulate. 

• If the candidate wishes to visit multiple times and if they earlier visited multiple times to the UK i.e 5 to 10 times, then they can apply for a long time visa for 2 years, 5 years, and 10 years. However, the final decision is with the consular.

UK visitors from India are required to apply under the category of the Standard Visitor Visa Application that is processed in 12-15 days and the charges for the normal processing is INR 10,250/-
